      Kerala is famous for it's unique geography, tranquil backwaters, unspoiled beaches, art forms and spices. There are many kind of visiting places. It is also famous for it's charming houseboats, sprawling tea plantations.

1. Blackwater:  There are many places.. Like...... 

i) Alappuzha: Alappuzha has always been a vital trade centre since ancient times. These days it has become one of the most sought out tourist destinatons in the state. iii) ALUMKADAVU IN KOLLAM: This is where the first houseboats in India were build. Here you can spends and entire day watching the crafting of kettuvalloms, at the houseboat building yard. Alumkadavu is also a coir manufacturing centre, making kollam famous for its coir products.

iv) CHANDRAGIRI FORT AND RIVER: it is situated,on the banks of payaswini river in kasaragod district, is a 17th century citadel. Chandragiri fort in kasaragod lies at the confluences of the payaswini river and the arabian sea. 


ROAD: chandragiri is only a few minutes drive from kasaragod town. 

RAIL: Kasaragod, about 7 km

AIR: Manglore international airport (karnataka), about 67 km. Kannur international Airport, about 110 km.


V) CHITHARI:  Green and beautiful, a little effacted by the historic bekal. Fort and beach, CHITHARI is still a virgin destination. The island is accessible only by boat, often wooden canoes that belong to the locals. CHITHARI is located 7 km from kanhaanged.

2) BEACHES: There are many different types of beaches.. Like.... 

i) CHERAI BEACHE, KOCHI: A combination of both the backwaters and the sea, the waters of popular cherai beaches is swimmers paradise. The sealhells on cherai beach are unique and swimmers have been known to run into dolphins in the waters. 


AIRPORT: Cochin international Airport, about 20 km

ii) KAPPAD BEACHE: This is a historic place located near kozhikode. It was kappad, in 1498 vasco da gama landed with his 170 men. Kappad was to be the gateway of European merchants whoflocked in for spice trade, which eventually ended up in colonial rule. The long stretch of rocks and hillocks, and occasional migratory birds, offer a pleasing experience to beach lovers.
